Discover the joy of movement at the Taylor School.
Our semester-long Youth Program welcomes dancers from toddlers to teens at every experience level. Through the renowned Taylor modern dance curriculum, students build strength, confidence, musicality, creativity, and a strong technical foundation while developing their own artistic voice.
In addition to modern dance, Taylor Dance West offers Ballet to complement students’ technical training and support their growth as versatile dancers.

Taylor Dance West

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Taylor Level 1
AGES 4-5
Dancers build confidence through learning the fundamental elements of modern and ballet dance technique while expressing their own unique creativity. Students will begin to develop coordination, balance, and body awareness through creative movement, live music, and imaginative play.

TUITION – $430/semester
TAYLOR MODERN
AGES 6-18
Taylor Level 2
AGES 6-7
Taylor Level 2 dancers strengthen coordination, flexibility, and musicality while expanding their movement vocabulary through the Taylor technique. Students learn, create, and perform longer movement phrases as they develop both technical skills and creative confidence.

Wednesday • 4:00-5:00 PM
TUITION – $430/semester
Taylor Level 3
AGES 8-9
Taylor Level 3 dancers deepen their technical training while exploring the distinctive movement style and choreographic approach of Paul Taylor. Students engage in more challenging floor work, perform longer combinations, and begin creating choreography of their own.

Wednesday • 5:00-6:00 PM
TUITION – $430/semester
RECOMMENDED
Taking two classes per week is highly encouraged.
Taylor Teen
AGES 13-18
Advanced Taylor Teen provides high school dancers with rigorous modern dance training while encouraging artistic curiosity and individual expression. Students study Taylor repertory in greater depth, refine technical skills, and challenge themselves creatively in a supportive pre-professional environment. Students should have completed Intermediate Taylor Teen or possess equivalent experience.

Intermediate Taylor Teen (No previous dance experience required)
Thursday • 5:00-6:30 PM
Advanced Taylor Teen (Students should have completed Intermediate Taylor Teen or possess equivalent experience)
Monday • 5:00-6:30 PM
TUITION – $475/semester
RECOMMENDED
Dancers at this level are encouraged to enroll in two or more classes each week to accelerate their technical development and artistic growth.
ADDITION DANCE STYLES
Ballet
AGES 8-18
Build strength, alignment, coordination, and classical technique through ballet training designed to complement modern dance study. Ballet strengthens the technical foundation of every dancer and is highly recommended alongside Taylor Modern classes.

Taylor Teen Ensemble
BY AUDITION ONLY
The Taylor Teen Ensemble offers dedicated young dancers (ages 14-18) the opportunity to perform excerpts from Paul Taylor’s celebrated repertory while receiving advanced artistic training in a collaborative performance environment.
Auditions have closed for the 2026-2027 Season.
