IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Every year, The Taylor School hosts numerous intensives throughout the United States, led by current Taylor dancers, alumni, and guest artists. Students engage in accelerated learning, as months of training are condensed into weeks of in-depth study. The focus is on the teaching of Paul Taylor’s repertory, along with the technical classes which support the understanding and execution of the works. In addition to these classes, students engage in cross-training in other modalities to enhance skills and artistic growth.
Students also attend lectures and view video and oral histories, adding historical and cultural contexts to their work. The curriculum also includes a creative component, which may include dance making, composition, filmmaking or having a non-Taylor, guest choreographer create a work on the students.
Both winter and summer Intensives are held at the Taylor studios in New York.
Summer Intensives are offered throughout the country.
